Terms of participation in the Meblościanka 2008 Design Workshops
General provisions
The Meblościanka 2008 Workshops are organised by VOX Industrie S.A. based in Janikowo at ul. Gnieźnieńska 26/28, 62-006 Kobylnica, entered in the register of entrepreneurs of the National Court Register kept by the District Court Poznań - Nowe Miasto and Wilda in Poznań at KRS 0000053724, tax ID no. 782-00-21-192, with the initial capital of PLN 5,185,100.00 PLN (fully paid-up), hereinafter referred to as the Organiser
Terms of participation in the Workshops
1. Workshops may be attended b Polish students of university design departments and young designers under 30 years of age.
2. In order to apply for participation in the Workshops, e-mail your portfolio (PDF file) at mebloscianka@voxdesign.pl by 30 April 2008.
Selection of Workshop Participants
1. In order to select designers who will be qualified for participation in the Workshops, the Organiser shall appoint a Jury headed by Tomek Rygalik.
2. The Jury will use the following criteria for evaluation of works and qualification for participation in the Workshops: presentation of the project, clarity of concept, market attractiveness, originality, innovativeness, aesthetic qualities, visual appeal, functionality, ergonomics, presentation and description of the project, creativity.
3. The time schedule of activities relating to the selection of Workshop Participants will be as follows:
- 31 March 2008 – appointment of Jury,
- 30 April 2008 – deadline for submitting portfolios by Workshop applicants,
- between 30 April and 5 May 2008 – Jury deliberations and selection of Workshop Participants,
- 5 May 2008 – informing the selected 15 applicants of their enrolment in the Workshops.
4. Confirmation of enrolment in the Workshops will be sent to the Participants by e-mail and communicated by phone.
Prototypes, implementation in production and exhibitions
1.On completion of the Workshops, between 12 and 16 projects will be professionally prototyped, while the best three projects will be implemented in regular production at VOX.
2. The winning designs will be selected by a Jury made up of representatives of the Organiser, Polish and foreign designers, as well as representatives of Polish furniture manufacturers and distributors. The decision of the Jury will be announced at a festive gala at the end of the Workshops on 31 May 2008.
3. About a dozen best designs will be displayed at prestigious exhibitions in Poland and abroad, in 2008 and 2009.
Copyright
1. The copyright of authors of the best designs that will be implemented in production by the Organiser will be assigned to the Organiser under a separate licence agreement incorporating the following basic terms and conditions:
· for a period of 10 years,
· against remuneration ranging between 3% and 5 % of the price of each sold product.
2. The Participant will be obliged to conclude a licence agreement on terms and conditions agreed by the parties. After selecting the three winning designs, the Organiser shall provide relevant agreements to design authors for their approval and signature.
