My name is Marcin Krater. I am 24 years old and I am currently in my 5th year at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, where I am pursuing a degree in design.

I also studied at the École Supérieure d’Art et Design in Saint Étienne (France).
I participated in the “Le végétal: Terre de sensualité” workshops on food design in Saint Étienne and the “Wnętrze zaradne” (“Able Interior”) workshops in Katowice.

I am a winner of a range of contests: OSRAM “Światło dla...” (“Light for…”), 7th EUROSAI logo – a competiton staged by the Supreme Chamber of Control, BPSC – statuette for 20th anniversary celebrations, finals of the Polish edition of the Bombay Sapphire Designer Glass Competition 2008.

In addition to design, I am also interested in interior design, culinary design, cotemporary literature, fashion and orchid cultivation. The things I value the most in designing include simple and functional ideas combined with a hint of surprise and fun. I get inspiration from any place possible... the best ideas emerge while I am… on the bus.
