As winner of the New Zealand Flos Young Designer of the Year 2004, I was invited to spend a week in Milan and Brecsia in Italy with the Flos team. I was able to meet with Piero Gandini and the Flos team, then with Antonio Citterio and his design team, and was also lucky enough to visit the studios of the late Achille Castiglioni.

Internship with lead designer and managing director
Project 1: Assisted lead designer with an enclosure shower system. My responsibilities were the digital 3D construction of the complete assembly as well as physical modelling, technical drawings, refining parts, consulting with project engineers, prototype sourcing and construction.
Project 2: Impressed with the work on the first project, I was asked to put some concepts together for a new shower/bathtub for Kohler Singapore. One Concept was accepted and further development, digital construction and ergonomic testing was undertaken. I worked on this project alone until I left 4 months later and the project was handed over to the Kohler Singapore project engineers.
